RICK MCGREGOR | Creative Director & Client Herder
Experience: I’m a graduate of Art Center College of Design. I have had a wonderful career that has taken me from being a freelancer, to an agency Art Director, to a corporate Marketing Director, to owning my own firm.
What I do: I’m a juggler. I juggle time, budgets, vendors and clients while striving for perfection.
Favorite thing I like to do at work: Struggling with a challenge and coming up with a fun solution to a problem.
Hobbies/Interests: I have too many! I love challenging myself to learn new skills and while tinkering with old things. I race old sail boats, I drive an old sports car and I ride old motorcycles.
Family Info: My wife Kristen of over 28 years is a professor and educator, my oldest daughter Victoria is a Purdue Graduate working in marketing for a major produce company, and my second daughter Anastasia will soon graduate from Business School at the University of Delaware and will be working for a major clothing retailer after graduation.
Best Vacation(s) Ever: Climbing ancient pyramids with my family in Mexico, my first summit of Mt. Whitney, fly fishing in Montana and sailing in the British Virgin Islands.
Turn Ons: Passionate business owners, acoustic performances from really good singer/songwriters, and sailing in 20 knot winds on a stormy ocean.
Turn Offs: People who are not courteous and respectful of others.
What do you want to be when you grow up: I’m very lucky… I am doing what I have always wanted to… be creative.
LAURICE FELLER | Graphic Designer & Beauty Creator
Experience: I graduated from Cal State Northridge with a degree in Graphic Design over 10 years ago. Since then, I’ve gained experience as a designer in various industries ranging from entertainment advertising to beauty packaging, and from environmental design to brand development.
What I do: I take pieces of a puzzle, and with logic and design sense, put together something that is clear, eye-catching and impactful.
Favorite thing I like to do at work: Exercising my mind muscles to come up with solutions that result in beautifully completed projects that make our clients happy.
Hobbies/Interests: Lately, I’ve been taking in new experiences and revisiting old ones through the eyes of my kids!
Family Info: Married to my husband, Ben, since 2011. We have two sons: a silly and smart 4-year-old, Desmond, and an adorably wild 1-year-old, Rowan. We also have a clumsy, food-focused, 6-year-old Corgi mix, Fritter.
Best Vacation(s) Ever: Paris for my 30th birthday (before we had kids)! Days were filled with food, exploration, history, art, Disneyland and Google Translate.
Turn Ons: No traffic, uninterrupted sleep, coupon codes.
Turn Offs: Awful kerning, unknown Caller ID’s, bad drivers as well as bad pedestrians.
What do you want to be when you grow up: Older, wiser, and able to say “Yeah, I did cool stuff.”
BLAED SPENCE | Copywriter AKA Word Nerd
What I do: You might say I put words in people’s mouths.
Special Talent: I can type almost as fast as I can talk (which is saying something)
Favorite thing I like to do at work: Remodeling! I love taking copy that’s old and out-of-date and making it shiny and new.
Hobbies/Interests: Muay Thai. Running. Dance. Meditation. Anything that puts me outdoors and moving!
Family Info: I hail from the People’s Republic of Berkeley and was raised in a family of Celtic-Canadian scientists, artists, and musicians. (Yeah. That pretty much explains it.) I’m married to my best friend and soul mate, Colin (also a writer), who every day helps me grow to my fullest spiritual and creative potential. We’re child-free by choice(!). But Colin’s a cat person, so we share our home with a super-social, awesome black cat named Morpheus.
What do you want to be when you grow up: A quirky but classy crone who’s lived such a vivid, all-in, no-holds-barred life that it resembles a work of art.
